Before you can pay employees, make sure you've registered for the applicable work and live in state. This can sometimes take several weeks—the sooner you start the process, the sooner you'll have the tax account information required to pay them.
Note, CertiPay Online can put your account in an applied for status. This may cause additional monthly fees as some states do not accept returns/tax liability deposits for accounts that are in an applied for status.

Eligibility Requirements
Your company becomes liable for state unemployment insurance tax once the company has:
- Paid $1500 in wages during a calendar quarter
- Had an employee working at least one day during a 20 week period
Register with Oklahoma Employment Security
1. Head to the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission website.
2. Click on the link that says Create an Employer Account.
3. Enter your information to create a User ID
4. Enter your company's information
If you have questions, call the agency at (405) 557-5452. You should receive your unemployment account number and unemployment tax rate in 2-3 weeks after registering online.
Register with Oklahoma Tax Commission
1. Go to OkTAP
2. Scroll down to the Businesses section and click Register for a Business
3. Select Business Registration
4. Answer the remote seller and direct wine shipper questions.
5. Enter the reason for the registration > for State withholding click ONLY register a new withholding account
6. The system will show the instructions on the registration and accept the terms
7. Enter the customer type
8. Enter the remaining company's information
Once the registration is completed, you will receive the account information within 5 business days.
