Before you can pay employees, make sure you've registered for the applicable work and live in state. This can sometimes take several weeks—the sooner you start the process, the sooner you'll have the tax account info required to pay them.
Note, CertiPay Online can put your account in an applied for status. This may cause additional monthly fees as some states do not accept returns/tax liability deposits for accounts that are in an applied for status.

Eligibility Requirements
Your company becomes liable for state unemployment insurance tax once the company has:
- Paid $1500 in wages during a calendar quarter
- Had an employee working at least one day during a 20 week period
Register with Idaho Department of Labor
Company's that need to register for state tax accounts can do so within one application.
1. Visit the Business Registration page.
2. Scroll down to click the Create a New Account link.
3. Enter a username, password and email on the next page.
4. Follow the remaining prompts regarding your company's information.
Once the registration is completed, the state will send the account numbers along with tax rates within 10 business days.
Workforce Development Rate
The Idaho Workforce Development and Administrative Reserve Rates are a part of the overall UI Tax Rate and appears on the Notice of Tax Rate form that you receive from the Idaho Department of Labor. New employers in Idaho will receive these rates once they have registered with the Idaho Department of Labor.
